Beaker.com, an online community focused on the life sciences industry with a strong emphasis on employment, has gone beta.
Beaker offers life sciences professionals a dynamic, online community that will help manage all stages of their career. For life sciences organizations, Beaker will serve as a hub for the industry, where they can more effectively and efficiently reach the best talent in the market.
Says CEO Jeffrey Clark, “We have brought together the most popular functions of social networking for working professionals and customized a platform for the life sciences industry, providing a highly specific and relevant experience. I am thrilled to offer this resource and see how the community of life sciences professionals helps shape it from here.”
In beta, the company is encouraging feedback from users to help guide the direction of the community. Clark says, “We have learned that social collaboration is one of the best routes to growth and learning, and we’re very excited to see what the community provides in terms of experience, perspective and commentary to their peers in the industry.”
To that end, the company features a 30-minute webinar outlining the company’s direction. You can also view video about the company.
Recruiting bloggers will likely recognize Josh Akers of Workfarce notoriety, serving as the company’s VP of sales and business development. For more on the Beaker.com team, click here.

First, thanks to Joel for picking up our launch. Always great to be associated with CheezHead!
As our release outlines, Beaker is the first offering to provide life sciences professionals & executives with an exclusive & private platform to network with their peers, advance their knowledge, and manage the direction of their career.
For professionals and executives managing a career in life sciences at any level and in any function, Beaker provides a community where users have the ability to connect, grow and change their career…all amongst an audience of their peers. To put it in simple terms, we have applied the same Web 2.0 functionality & audio/video technology that has fostered incredible growth and communication in other social networks to a specific audience of those in the life sciences industry.
In the coming months, we will be listening to our users by customizing & adding to the features of Beaker. We welcome your input. And, over the course of the next few months, we will work to refine, improve and add to our functionality based upon the feedback we receive.
I hope everyone will follow the links to homepage and our corporate videos. They are a quick and easy presentation of Beaker.
I have yet to meet anyone who is not connected to a colleague, friend or family member working in the life sciences industry in some capacity. I hope you will share the launch of Beaker as their online community!
