Hey Jokster,
I must respectfully disagree with your opinion. Just because someone participated in extracurricular activities does not make them a leader or proactive. It should be taken on a case by case basis. My point was that many new graduates place a lot of unnecessary things, on their resume, that provide little or no value to most Recruiters or Hiring managers, perhaps you are an exception.

Just so we are clear and you know who you are talking about: Mike O'Brien founded Financialaid.com, which was eventually acquired by CIT Financial. While with CIT Financial, he remained the CEO of Financialaid.com and was on the Chairman of CIT's technology committee. Mike has hired 100's of people. I actually designed and led the recruitment organization for a $1.8 BB company and have hired 1000's of people.

These guys are a joke. They don't look like they could even get jobs themselves. Also horribly filmed and edited.

I am a hiring manager and I do look at extracurricular activities and if students have held any cabinet positions because it tells me that have leadership capabilities and the desire to do things proactively.

What a joke.
