If you’re headed to SHRM next week, odds are you’re already planning on crashing attending one of the parties below. But if you aren’t yet in the know, here’s a breakdown:
1. CareerBuilder @ Lincoln Park Zoo, with a live concert from Maroon 5. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Monday. Invite only.
2. SHRM presents Lionel Ritchie, Tuesday, 8:30 p.m. at the main conference location. You’re sure to be dancin’ on the ceiling, all night long (sorry, couldn’t resist).
3. The Ladders is providing cocktails at what it’s dubbed “LaddersLounge,” Monday, 5–8 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
4. Jobing’s party is at Chicago’s Navy Pier, Monday from 5-10 p.m., with food and cocktails. Stay until the end for a “big surprise.”
5. Yahoo will be throwing a bash at Chicago’s House of Blues on Monday from 6-10 p.m. Cocktails, food and fortune telling will be provided.
For more information or to get an invite, please contact each company directly. We’re not party planners! And did we miss any? Feel free to add legitimate parties in the comment section below.
UPDATE: The Dice party this year will be Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Chicago Field Museum. Invite only.

I actually would not mind hearing Lionel Richie. Endless Love is like my favorite song ever.

Are all the parties being held by job boards? What about companies like Oracle, Success Factors, or any of the big RPOs or benefits providers?

The guy @ The Monster booth told his staff to tell people that they’re investing the money they would normally spend on a party and putting the investment back into SHRM. It’s party-all-the-time-party-all-the-time (my paraphrase) at the Monster booth.
