Who knew people actually read these things? It was great to meet and catch up with those of you who stopped by at the SHRM Annual Conference and said hello. I can’t believe that none of you took the opportunity to heckle me for my Xtra Columns. We even enjoyed hanging and podcasting with the Big Cheez on his couch at the Jobing booth (more on that in the near future).

Anyway, we just released our Annual List of Background Screening Trends for the coming year and thought you’d be interested in learning what’s on the horizon for 2009.

The list is highlighted by the following trends:

  • The Importance of Thorough Background Checks in a Shrinking Economy
  • The Use of Social Networking Site to Screen Indivuduals
  • The Screening of Outside Contractors
  • Background Screening for Existing Employees
  • Etc.
