Professional networking site Xing is proving that it’s more than just an annoying buzz in the ear of rival LinkedIn.
The site reported its half year results, which show that earnings rose nearly three fold from EUR 1.46 million to EUR 5.76 million.
Membership has increased substantially, with 470,000 premium memberships and 6.14 million members total, up from 3.52 million. This is still somewhat paltry in comparison to LinkedIn’s estimated 23 million members. But such phenomenal growth in such a short time establishes this site as a competitor quickly encroaching on LinkedIn’s market space.
Xing also recently added an advertising and an e-commerce revenue stream to their premium subscriptions, which has resulted in 2.46 million clicks on jobs during the reported period.
