monster steals bbdo account manager

Monster.com announced the appointment of Ted Gilvar to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Global Marketing Officer.

Gilvar most recently served as Monster’s account manager at advertising firm BBDO. He’s been in the advertising business for over 20 years, working with clients such as the NFL, Target, and Guinness.

Ted is no stranger to Monster having played an integral leadership role in Monsters Your Calling is Calling campaign, essentially functioning as an extension of the Monster marketing and leadership teams, said Sal Iannuzzi, Chairman, President and CEO, Monster. Over the past several months Ted has been ingrained in our organization, imparting his vast marketing and branding expertise to help further Monsters mission to inspire people to improve their lives. We are pleased to welcome Ted and look forward to his continued contribution to evolving the Monster brand.

    I’m hurt. I love BBDO! I wouldn’t say Monster is in the same category but I didn’t see that coming at all. I’ll just keep my eye on what Leo Burnett and JWT are up to then.
