Not to be confused with those lucky mugs at Trovix, UK-based online classifieds search engine Trovit has been named the second fastest growing site in its native country, according to Nielsen/NetRatings.

Trovit Traffic

Says Alex Burmaster, Internet Analyst for Nielsen Online, “Sites tapping into consumer concerns about the economy, giving them the opportunity to save money, dominate the fastest growing list. Coupons and reward sites, classifieds and shopping comparison engines are obvious examples but Walkers Snack Foods is the fastest growing site of all due to their ‘Brit Trips’ promotion offering discounts on British holidays and trips around attractions, hotels and restaurants.”

According to the report, site traffic for Trovit has grown from 30,000 users in June 2007 to 766,000 in June 2008. No other job-related site made the list. Moreover, no online classifieds or job board made it into the area’s Top Ten list for most popular sites in the UK.

Trovit also serves Germany, Spain, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico, in addition to the UK.
