cheezhead launches ad network

There’s a lot of fragmentation out there in the recruitosphere. And it’s bound to get worse. For vendors wanting to market their wares, this fragmentation makes for tough decisions on where to place advertising and how to do it. Going to a wide variety of publishers is time consuming to say the least.

For the wide array of publishers out there - usually bloggers - most are too busy, well, recruiting to worry about selling ad space. Many realize there’s value in what they do and that the audience they attract has appeal to vendors, but implementing and carrying out an advertising option more profitable and appealing than, say, Google AdSense, is something there’s simply no time for.

That’s why we’ve created the Cheezhead Advertising Network.

Over the last month or so, we’ve been gradually adding top-notch publishers and advertisers. All sites are employment-related. Site owners add our code to their site and go on with their lives. We run the advertising and cut them a payment via PayPal every month for 50 percent of revenue based on a CPM (cost-per-thousand) model, currently at $20.

Punk Rock HR’s Laurie Ruettimann summed it up best, saying “I joined the network because it’s a win/win situation for both bloggers and advertisers. I know the ads placed on my blog will be relevant to my readership. The advertisers know that my readers are engaged and interested in their products. No one is trying to sell fake pharmaceutical drugs or sketchy weight loss products on my blog.”

To be considered, publishers must be employment related and receive a minimum of 5,000 pageviews monthly. They also must have a PayPal account.

For advertisers looking to get in front of targeted buyers, a network like this makes managing their ad buy a little more convenient. Purchasing ads on the well-known recruiting sites is easy, but the overall numbers a network can create should have its own appeal.

Susan Vitale, Director of Marketing for iCIMS said, “Our placements throughout the network on industry blogs and related sites have given us great exposure to HR professionals looking for information on iCIMS or on talent management technology platforms. We look forward to continued success with the program.”

An added benefit for advertisers is putting your company, event, publication, whatever in front of the very people you hope will talk about your product and share it with others. The network is a great way to connect with sneezers.
