Oodle, an aggregator of online classified ads, is now experimenting in the UK with what General Manager Duncan Dunlop calls “the next phase of classified advertising: mobile classifieds.”
People wishing to sell some of their wares can now text the item description and picture to 66121. They’re charged only if someone expresses an interest in purchasing the item and the seller wants their identity revealed.
The technology was created by Mobiya, a classified media platform that’s been around since 2007.
Mobiya, which claims to turn classified operations into a competitive advantage for media companies and newspaper publishers, appears to be gaining in popularity from its recent integration with Reed Business Information, a multi-billion dollar media house in the UK.
