Professional networking site LinkedIn, which is now 27 million members strong, has announced a partnership with financial news channel CNBC.

LinkedIn plans on exchanging its community-generated content for CNBC’s articles, blogs, videos, and financial data.

CNBC will also integrate LinkedIn’s networking functionality onto its web site.

“We will be able to draw out insights from LinkedIn’s global user base to generate fascinating new types of business content for CNBC to broadcast,” said LinkedIn CEO Dan Nye.

The networking site seems to be infiltrating every medium it can get its hands on. Earlier last month, LinkedIn announced a content partnership with the New York Times. They’re also lecturing about their services to a struggling Hollywood.

A Reuters article speculates that the reason for all the aggressive moves is an attempt ” to woo users from the much larger Facebook, which has a user-base that ranges from college students and teenagers to corporate professionals seeking to connect with their business networks.”
