indeed.com adds india to its target markets

News

Indeed.com has opened shop in India at www.indeed.co.in. Aside from its U.S. mothership, the company also has sites in Canada and the U.K.

According to a company correspondence, “Traffic to all our country sites continues to grow strongly. More users come from India than any country other than the US, UK and Canada, so we created Indeed.co.in to serve them with jobs on their doorstep.”

So far, the number of job postings in India (”21,397 new jobs in the last 7 days”) on Indeed pales in comparison to its U.S. (”837,257 new jobs in the last 7 days”) and U.K. (”328,576 new jobs in the last 7 days”) offerings, but I suspect that will even out over time considering massive growth in India and the number of job sites popping up with pay-per-click dollars in hand.

A similar launch by rival Simply Hired seems unlikely anytime soon.
