Out of the hundreds of companies listed on the newly-launched site InternshipRatings.com, where interns can rate the companies they worked for and leave comments detailing their experience, Monster has one of the poorest ratings so far with two negative reviews.

It’s a small number, but the site literally just launched. Even TechCrunch called them out on it.

The anonymous intern who posted a rating for the job board said the internship did not meet the job description he/she signed up for, nor did it provide the person with real-world experience.

The second user noted that they were not comfortable in their environment and that their boss did not positively influence the internship (although this one looked like an angry ex-employee out for revenge).

The site’s tag line asks, “Was it worth the coffee?”

So far, XM Satellite Radio has the highest ratings with an 87 percent overall satisfaction rating from 24 interns who said the experience was great for networking, recommendation letters, and fair hours.

I think “How was fetching coffee?” might be a better tag line after reading this post..

Even though Monster may be a well hated company by ex-employees, former interns, and countless other, this system is engineered for disaster. All anonymous comments without accountability… this is like a juicycampus.com all over again – yet this time companies reputations are on the line.
