Jobing.com is helping retired NFL players in the Tampa Chapter get in shape – for job hunting, that is.
The provider of locally-focused recruitment solutions has announced a partnership with the Tampa Chapter of NFL alumni to provide workshops that will focus on topics like resume writing and successful interviews.
“While many retired players struggle with post-career benefits and career transition, the various workshops Jobing.com is offering area alumni will help make at least one of these roads easier to travel for this group of proud men,” said Tim Watson, President of the NFL Alumni Tampa Chapter.
The workshops begin this month and will run through the end of the year, culminating at the 9th Annual Player Networking Event™ (PNE) at the Super Bowl, the only NFL Sanctioned Event designed to support active and former players transition into second careers.
“We are thrilled to partner with the NFL Alumni to help retiring players prepare for their second career in the workforce,” said Jobing.com Community Relations Manager Angela Rosario. “This unique collaboration will provide valuable information for these players, especially in today’s economy.”

Jobing acquires another pointless partnership. Although they found a niche with their local focus and partnership program such as the one mentioned I don’t really see a huge value in this particular partnership.

I will never again use Jobing.com! After countless calls from a pushy but convincing sales guy I decided he deserved a few moments of my time. He went on about all their great “partnerships” and how it will help my ads perform better then CareerBuilder or Monster.
I regretfully spent the majority of my limited budget on 10 job postings and I have had no results from them. When he called me back I informed him of the lack of responses and he said “well our postings perform better in some of our stronger markets and that might be the reason”. He refreshed the postings and we made changes to get better results but still nothing. I asked him to refund me for the postings I did not use but Jobing was unwilling to work with me. The funny thing is I have a new sales guy from Jobing calling me now using the same pitch.
I had to extend my budget and I am back to the basics using CareerBuilder and Monster and filling positions as soon as I post. They give me a less expensive rate on my postings as well.
Just a thought for everyone.
Cheers,
