Two veteran podcasters who specialize in what they call the best career advice on the planet are launching JobRadio.fm, an internet radio channel that will broadcast a variety of news, guests, and job tips.
Chris Russell, founder of the podcasts Secrets of the Job Hunt and Jobs in Pods, and Peter Clayton, founder of Total Picture Radio, have partnered to broadcast their career advice on the station that will offer 12 hours of continuously streaming content.
“We wanted to extend our brands and offer one channel that featured the best career advice on the planet” says Chris Russell. “Internet radio is a great medium and we are filling a need that does not currently exist. The time has come for a station dedicated to making people better job seekers.”
Russell added, “I was inspired by other internet radio stations and after doing some research realized it would be fairly easy to start one. I already had hours of great audio. So I approached Peter Clayton about teaming up and re-purposing our podcasts to create the first ever career advice internet radio station.”
Russell said that in addition to the three aforementioned shows they will broadcast, he will also add the Jobacle podcast into the mix along with some original content.
Since all the shows are pre-recorded, listeners may interact by commenting on their blog (http://jobradio.fm) or calling the comment line at 206-888-9910.
“We think job seekers, career coaches, career counselors, HR professionals and recruiters will love JobRadio.fm,” said Clayton. “Most people realize they need to invest in their careers to get ahead in this highly competitive job market. By combining programs from the best career podcasters on the Internet, we’re offering terrific value. Think of it as ‘Pandora’ for your career.”
JobRadio.fm is sponsored exclusively by SimplyHired. Listeners can tune in via the audio player on the site or use a media player such as WinAmp or iTunes. The stream is located at http://war.str3am.com:8010/listen.pls.

Thanks Dina, we’ve always been advocates for the job seeker. Especially in today’s turbulent job market, they need as much help as they can get.

I think this is a terrific idea and I’ll enjoy watching it’s development over the coming months. More great stuff from Chris Russell is never a bad thing.
