A few will survive, and others will be forced to close their doors. JibberJobber, a web site for job seekers who want more than just a spreadsheet to handle their job search, is one of those vendors who might enjoy a healthy spike in traffic and users as more layoffs and downsizing occur nationwide. CEO Jason Alba said that he expects to see an uptick in users during the coming years. "JibberJobber was optimized for a job search, but it was clear that this should be a long-term career management tool, useful even after you land your next job or between job searches. Using JibberJobber is a proactive tactic, so we enjoy users who are not in transition but worried they might be as well as those who are active job seekers."

First they unveiled a new sourcing solution called Integrated Resume Search, a solution that combines "direct, real-time access to a number of job boards with an on-demand, integrated front office." Coinciding with the release of Integrated Resume Search was the announcement that Monster and Bullhorn are partnering to unveil a new online recruiting platform called PowerSource, a product that CEO Art Papas envisioned seven years ago.

Aggregation solutions like Indeed and Simply Hired, in contrast, are gaining significant traction. Moreover, Google, it turns out, is a more important driver of traffic than brand awareness. As numbers reveal, "Search is a key driver of traffic, with the majority coming from organic results, paid search is currently not broadly used within the Employment category." Job seekers are able to canvas thousands of Web sites rather than depend solely on a small number of destinations.
