According to an article on TechCrunch, LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman is stepping back into his post as chief executive. He is replacing Dan Nye, a former Intuit executive.
Nye has been the CEO of the professional networking site, which received a billion dollar valuation back in June, since early 2007. Nye is expected to remain as an advisor after leaving the company.
Techcrunch also reported that Jeff Weiner, a former Yahoo! executive, will be joining LinkedIn as the interim president. They speculate that Weiner is being groomed to become the new CEO sometime in 2009 and that his role will be an audition of sorts to see if he can be successful.
This is just one in a couple shake-ups that have occurred recently. Last week, Deep Nishar, a director of product management at Google, left his post to become LinkedIn’s vp of product strategy.
