Resume Bomber, a new service that deploys job seekers’ resumes to over 80+ job sites, has launched with one of the most cringe-worthy names that I have ever come across.
The service claims to speed up the job search process by doing all of the leg work for the job seeker for a small fee of about $60 (it’s actually quite paltry, the site says, when you consider all the work they do on your behalf).
Here is what the site claims you get for your money:
Resume Posting Monitor is Real-time monitoring system. This high-tech system developed by our specialists, which will allow you vrememeni real monitor the registration process at all Job Sites. You can also use Resume Posting Monitor for centralized management of all sites. You do not have to receive hundreds of letters to your e-mail from all Job Sites as Resume Posting Monitor will take all the work themselves! He handled all the letters and give you information for all Job Sites in one convenient table. Also Resume Posting Monitor will handle all the proposals on the work and send you on your e-mail.
Aside from the name, which to me is highly inappropriate considering the violence overseas, the site’s description is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors which will most likely turn off job seekers who want to ensure their money goes to a reputable service.
With JobSerf and ResumeRabbit already hard at work for job seekers in this supersaturated market, is another candidate service necessary?

Yeah, Resume Bomber probably isn’t the best name. Of course, Resume Blaster would have been worse. It’s right up there with CheezHead.

I particularly enjoyed “this high-tech system developed by our specialists, which will allow you vrememeni real monitor the registration process at all Job Sites”
Nice.

Just a reskinning of Resume Rabbit. Capitalizing on the fear in the current economic slowdown of job seekers.

Oddly, they have a banner ad at the top of their page (right next to their logo) - for Resume Rabbit!

I used a resume blaster back in 1999, and remember thinking “wow, I am going to be getting so many calls, I am going to have to think about managing them.” I didn’t get a single call!! There is actually a free site called Gadball which I believe posts them for free (talked to them a few years ago, seemed like solid guys, thought linked to Careerbuilder maybe).
FYI regarding JobSerf. JobSerf does not mass mail or ‘bomb’ resumes. It takes semi-custom cover letters, selects one of up to 5 resumes, and applies to jobs just as if the job seeker had done it themselves. I agree with Chad, stay away from ‘blasters’ in general. Anyone on the receiving end of a blaster has already found a way to avoid the firehose of incoming resumes. Probably worked for a few months or years, but its popularity most likely rendered it ineffective.
(Note: I am one of the founders of JobSerf also). Thanks.
