Comments on: resume bomber launches, fizzles out

I used a resume blaster back in 1999, and remember thinking “wow, I am going to be getting so many calls, I am going to have to think about managing them.” I didn’t get a single call!! There is actually a free site called Gadball which I believe posts them for free (talked to them a few years ago, seemed like solid guys, thought linked to Careerbuilder maybe).

FYI regarding JobSerf. JobSerf does not mass mail or ‘bomb’ resumes. It takes semi-custom cover letters, selects one of up to 5 resumes, and applies to jobs just as if the job seeker had done it themselves. I agree with Chad, stay away from ‘blasters’ in general. Anyone on the receiving end of a blaster has already found a way to avoid the firehose of incoming resumes. Probably worked for a few months or years, but its popularity most likely rendered it ineffective.

Yeah, Resume Bomber probably isn’t the best name. Of course, Resume Blaster would have been worse. It’s right up there with CheezHead.
