Julie Sarpy from Dallas says it can. This fashion consultant dipped into her savings to buy the biggest advertisement she could find.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Sarpy had been unemployed for six months before she decided to shell out $1200 to buy billboard space along a central expressway for three days.

Sarpy said she applied for numerous positions over the course of her unemployment, only to receive rejection after rejection. After seeing a media piece about a man who used a sandwich board to hunt for a job, she decided to rent the billboard.

So far, Sarpy has received around 50 calls, two of which have turned into valid job offers. She has yet to decide which one to pick.
