AllCountyJobs.com, a regional job board network, has launched three new energy-focused job boards that target the wind, solar, and biofuel industries. It is the company’s first foray into the green jobs market.
Jobs in Wind Power, Jobs in Solar Power, and Jobs in Biofuels will be powered by Simply Hired’s Jobamatic job board software.
“Green jobs are the future of our economy,” said Chris Russell, founder and President of AllCountyJobs. “Jobs in these industries will become the growth engine of our employment market in the years to come. Niche job boards that focus on these industries will reap the rewards of this growth, and that’s why we’re launching these green job sites.”
Russell said that users can expect to find job listings for Wind Turbine Technicians, Wind Farm Program Members, and Wind Power sales reps on the wind power job board and Solar Panel Installers, Photovoltaic Engineer, and Solar Project Managers on the solar power job board. The biofuels job board will focus on jobs that work with ethanol and biodiesel such as chemical engineers and Ethanol Plant Operators.
Postings cost $50 for 30 days.
According to a recent NY Times article, the Solar Energy Industries Association says more than 3,400 companies are in the solar energy sector, and they currently employ about 25,000 to 35,000 workers, including installers, manufacturers, distributors, project developers, and materials suppliers. They estimate that will grow to more than 110,000 direct solar jobs by 2016.
Similar predictions abound for the wind power industry and biofuels. A 200-megawatt wind farm could be expected to create approximately 200 short-term construction jobs, 13 long-term operations and maintenance jobs and lead to 400 manufacturing jobs, according to national averages provided by the Washington, DC-based American Wind Energy Association trade group.
