VisualCV, an online platform that transforms your resume into a digital representation, has launched a program called Visual Career Connection.
Individuals can utilize the platform to share their VisualCVs confidentially with employers. If a company makes a hire, it pays a small fee to VisualCV, Inc. Companies can also promote positions on their VisualCVs and search the public database to find professionals.
Below is the fee structure:
US$500 for hires where the salary is below 50k
US$1000 for hires where the salary is 50K – 100k
US$2500 for hires where the salary is 100k- 199K
US$5000 for hires where the salary is 200k and above
“We want to empower our individual members to manage their careers whether they are in active job search mode or reaching out to make sure they are on the radar of the companies they would like to work for,” said VisualCV CEO Jeff Hunter, adding, “In this market it’s best practice to have your resume fired up and ready to go, but many people are also using their VisualCVs more subtly, as a link in an e-mail signature for example, to proactively network and feel prepared for whatever happens.”
According to a press release, at launch, 20 companies are already signed up to trial or use the new VisualCV Career Connection service including Amazon.com, MicroStrategy and Microsoft Corporation.
Michael Marlatt, a recruiting consultant for Microsoft, said, “”VisualCV Career Connection allows me to build a presence, hear directly from interested candidates, and get a well-rounded view of their fit from their VisualCV. With the ongoing popularity and importance being placed on social media, it’s just good business sense to have recruiting methodologies match today’s virtual and socially-networked world. We’re looking forward to tapping into this talent resource.”

I still don’t get how much these companies are charging! Are the so called “trials” really free?
As a recruiter I am getting sick of all the emails and phone calls offering deals that will find me the perfect candidate – for an astronomical price tag.
