ontargetjobs (finally) implements cross-posting

With one of the largest collection of niche sites in the marketplace, onTargetjobs is now empowering its sales team to cross-post jobs and banner ads within their network of “more than 400″ geo-specific and industry-specific sites, which most notably includes RegionalHelpWanted.com.

“Our new recruiting solutions give employers a unique competitive advantage in hiring qualified, professional candidates on a local level,” said Mike Tansey, CEO of onTargetjobs. “Employers now have the ability to precisely position their career opportunities by both industry and specific geographic markets. We are also pleased to offer an incredible variety of complementary branding and advertising solutions.”

On the surface, this hardly seems innovative or newsworthy. However, although cross-posting and job distribution channels have been the norm for quite some time, the solution is new at onTarget. Said Kris Schneider, account executive with RegionalHelpWanted.com and JobShop.ca, “Before this, you would have to contact every single [job site] to post individually.”

So anyone who finds the convenience of a service like JobTarget’s OneClick, which gives employers a single interface to pick-and-choose their job sites of choice, are in for a rude awakening. The onTargetjobs system is manually overseen by a representative, which will be nice for some who like a personal touch, but a pain for others.

Can we expect them to be printing money soon with this move?

Historically, putting a lot of weapons in a sales person’s arsenal becomes too much to handle, driving many deeper into comfort zones. (Just ask the recruitment advertising agencies.) As a result, one could conclude that expecting a sales rep at, say, JobLoft, to start rockin’ the postings on BioSpace too, would be a bit unrealistic. And, keep in mind, we’re talking 400 sites that reps will have to push here. Not a dozen.

Not necessarily an obstacle says Schneider. “Each site under RegionalHelpWanted has basically the same format, but is split up into 350 different regions across the country each with its own specific set of jobs in the area. RegionalHelpWanted employees only have to learn how BioSpace, HEALTHeCAREERS, Hcareers, JobLoft, bizjournals and CareerBank function, but the other sites representatives would need to study up on how Regional’s sites function. The sites are very user-friendly and do not require too much homework.”

Other cross-marketing options within the network include online banners, eNewsletters, featured sponsorships and video advertorials.
