Monster.com and the NFL are teaming up to announce a promotion to take place during Super Bowl XLIII that will reward one of football’s biggest fans.

Monster is launching a national contest to fill a postion called a Director of Fandemonium. This person will serve as goodwill ambassador for Monster and the NFL at several marquee events during the 2009 NFL season and also will receive a $100,000 signing bonus, courtesy of Monster.

During their tenure as Director, the person chosen will serve in several roles, including announcing a pick at the NFL 2009 draft, participating in on-field introductions at the game in London, and joining the coin toss ceremony at Super Bowl XLIV.

“The Director of Fandemonium promotion is the perfect alliance between the NFL and Monster. We’ve turned the act of being an NFL fan into a ‘dream job’,” said Ted Gilvar, executive vice president and chief global marketing officer, Monster Worldwide, Inc. “We invite people to come to the new Monster.com to check out the contest and to see how our new online tools can help them find jobs in a competitive job market.”

According to an article on TradingMarkets, these are the rules: the Director of Fandemonium contest is open to legal U.S. residents who are at least 18 years of age. Candidates may apply for the open position at nfl.monster.com between February 1 and February 15, 2009. Alternatively, during the contest period, interested entrants may send a text message with the keyword “FAN” from compatible wireless mobile devices, addressed to the shortcode 24421. Entrants will receive a text message response back directing them to the promotional landing page where they may officially enter the contest.

Thirty-two finalists (one per each NFL team) will be randomly selected to travel to New York City in mid-March for an interview at NFL offices with the DOF Board of Directors, which will include NFL and Monster personnel, as well as retired NFL players. All 32 finalists will also receive two tickets for all 2009 regular season home games of their favorite team.

Monster added that this is only a promotion, not an offer of employment.

I’m sure everyone at Cheezhead will apply!
