AfterCollege, a career network for college students and alumni, is in the midst of redesigning their entire site to include professional networking functionality, a new data model for profiles and niche networks, and enhanced job filter functionality.
The new platform now allows job seekers to search through opportunities from its homepage or to join career networks at their schools or professional organizations in order to access custom email updates and job content.
Roberto Angulo, CEO, said some of the main features of the redesign include:
- Enabling users to access their department and group jobs sites from the main AfterCollege site.
- Adding job filter functionality to enable users to drill down their searches on the main site or on specific department and group sites by job role, experience level (to distinguish jobs for students vs. alumni)
- A new data model which allows users to update their profiles, and join employer and school career networks. This will power the professional networking once it’s live.
“Given the current economic climate, we’re listening intently to our job-seekers and working hard to provide them with access to every relevant opportunity,” said Brian Heifferon, Co-Founder and VP of Products at AfterCollege. “We’re excited about this initial phase of our redesign, and as we introduce additional functionality in the coming months, we believe that AfterCollege will become an even more valuable resource for our job-seeking college students and alumni.”
