workgiant goes belly-up

News

WorkGiant.com, a pay-per-performance recruiting solution that claimed to save companies up to 70 percent on their current recruiting costs, has apparently closed its doors.

Information on when and why the Fort Myers-based company shut down is not available at this time. Calls and emails to company reps either bounced back or were not returned. A visit to the web site notes that the system has been permanently closed.

LinkedIn profiles of the company’s employees, including Kevin Romney, CEO, were not updated as to their current status and still reflect roles at WorkGiant.

In an article on Recruiting Fly from January 2007, WorkGiant listed these core and value-added services that make up their offerings to employers and job seekers:

• Post all of your jobs for free
• Search our entire resume database for free
• Keep your jobs online until they are filled (no time constraints)
• Pay only upon successfully hiring the candidate of choice
• Upon hiring you only pay 1% of the annual salary
• Recycled Candidate Program – WorkGiant is the only employment site online that offers Employers and Recruiters the ability to recycle their surplus candidates and get paid
• Job Keywords – Employers and Recruiters have the ability to use Job Keywords to edge out competitors for top job seeker talent (pay-per-click)
• Job Sync Technology – have your jobs posted automatically with our job posting service and Job Sync technology frees you from manually posting open positions and deleting filled positions (free to companies with a minimum of 100 jobs)
• Precision Match Technology – Enables structured database resume searches to match job openings with the most appropriate candidates

I heard that one of the primary investors in the company won litigation to take the domain name and all assets of the company and WorkGiant will be back – but that was a few months ago.

  2. Rafael Says:

its tough to reach a critical mass of job seekers and jobs…until you do, you leave a wake of frustrated users. Their site had little traffic.
