Monster.com has launched “Monster Evolutions,” a new customized outplacement solution for employers designed to help recently displaced workers explore and identify new career possibilities.

The new platform will provide a mix of live and virtual services for career transition, outplacement, and networking, including access to Monster’s jobs database.

Displaced employees will have access to more than 300 career counselors, 35 hours of live, on-demand training webinars, social networks, and alumni communities.

Comprehensive metrics and reporting functions allow members to monitor the success of their outplacement initiatives.

“Monster Evolutions offers a comprehensive solution to companies who want to help employees affected by workforce reductions,” said Steve Cooker, senior vice president and general manager, sales for Monster. “By providing our customers with the latest in outplacement services, we are able to link their displaced workers to Monster’s career management tools and help them connect directly to companies currently hiring on Monster.com. This combination of service illustrates our commitment to meet our customers’ ever-evolving needs.”

The outplacement services leverages Monster’s new relationship with IMPACT Group, a provider of career transition services.

Only U.S. companies can access the portal currently. Prices depend on individual customer needs.

This is not such big news. Careerbuilder and Jobing.com are also offering the same thing. CBTransitions and Outplacing.com (http://www.cbtransitions.com/ and http://outplacing.com/.) It seems to me to be a good way for them to try to limit the amount of contracts being cancelled becuase their clients are laying people off. Now they can offer to convert the dollars to this new service to keep their client’s money. Of course, if you read the comments regarding these companies’ own layoffs then it would seem they have a lot to learn about outplacement and may not have the expertise to offer any real value.

I wonder if any of those who commented (212 comments)on CB giving them the Ax would respond and tell the Cheezhead community if their former employer helped them with their career transition?

My company tried to BUY outplacement and sought out quotes from a variety of sources, CB and Jobing among them. It seems that they DON’T REALLY have true outplacement; they DO HAVE resume help. They told our HR that they could build anything we wanted but, when we asked about their staff of trained and experienced career counselors, THEY HAD NONE!
