comScore, a site that measures the digital world, released its monthly analysis of U.S. consumer activity at the top online properties for January 2009 based on data from the comScore Media Metrix service.
While tax-related sites led as the top-gaining category, job search sites saw their fair share of increased traffic.
Dramatic job losses and the start of a New Year drove people to job search sites again and again in January. The category was up 42 percent to 26.7 million visitors from December. The Career Resources category was also up 26 percent to 48.9 million visitors.
Leading the job search category was CareerBuilder.com with 12.2 million visitors (up 34 percent versus December), Monster.com with 9.5 million visitors (up 42 percent), and Yahoo! HotJobs with 7.7 million visitors (up 38 percent).

Did anyone else notice that Indeed is in the top 10 of “Gaining Properties” as listed on the same Comscore page? Seems that’s the bigger news there to me.
