Career expert Alison Doyle has created a list of favorite newer job-search sites. Here are five:
• www.visualcv.com: Allows users to create a resume that “comes alive with informational keyword pop-ups, video, pictures, and social networking.”
• www.linkup.com: Bills itself as a way into the “hidden” job market and promises only real jobs from real companies.
• www.realmatch.com: Matches applicants only with employers that appear to make a good fit.
• www.standoutjobs.com: An “interactive career site that leverages social media tools and principles, including video, blogging and widgets.”
• www.glassdoor.com: Allows users to find “real-time reviews, ratings and salary details about specific jobs for specific employers – all for free.”

My favorite job search site continues to be LinkedIn. I think that with the addition of the customizable company profiles, job seekers have all that that they need at their fingertips, including internal recruiters on LinkedIn, available opportunities by geography, new company projects and products, and videos.

I’m very biased since I work for this one, but really, if you’re looking for a seasonal job or a summer job in a great place, CoolWorks.com is a wonderful job site. With the combination of our social network, http://My.CoolWorks.com, and the advertising side at http://CoolWorks.com, our job seekers get the skinny on the employers they are interested in working for from their peers, and the information about how to apply from the employers. It’s a complete package focused on seasonal jobs. Check it out.
