divesh-sisodrakerA lot of new recruiting applications for Twitter have been cropping up recently, and I thought it’d be a good idea to spotlight the platforms that are generating the most buzz.

This week we talked to former Pivotal CEO and Taleo CFO Divesh Sisodraker, who is currently heading up JobMagnet, a company that develops recruiting tools for social networks.

JobMagnet just launched tweetCruit, a new tool that powers recruiting campaigns through deep integrations with Twitter. Unlike other applications, tweetCruit has assembled integrated messaging, pre-screening, applicant management, workflow, and analytics capabilities into a single platform.

Here’s our Q&A with Sisodraker:

Why launch tweetCruit now?

We believe that Twitter usage is going through the tipping point. In addition, we noticed recruiters were trying to use the system to find candidates, but that they didn’t have tools that would let them be more efficient, and with the candidate volumes out there these days, it is hard to stay on top of everyone. As a result, we wanted to be the first to market with a robust recruiting platform for Twitter.

How does it compare to other recruiting-based Twitter applications?

TweetCruit is the only Twitter based recruiting platform that includes integrated Twittering, pre-screening, analytics and workflow capabilities in a single, unified platform. Others take the approach of letting you post a job to a Twitter stream, but we see little value in Twitter streams that have development jobs in Cleveland, marketing jobs in Dallas, and accounting jobs in Seattle coming through. That’s a lot of noise.

What’s the best feature of tweetCruit?

We think it’s a tie between analytics and pre-screening. The free analytics capabilities are better than many marketing systems out there. The pre-screening will save recruiters lots of time weeding through candidates. We know that that in this environment, where there are more candidates than ever applying for open positions, the built-in pre-screening capabilities will let recruiters immediately focus on the best candidates.

How do the analytics work and what do they track?

Our analytics are some of the best available in any Twitter application. They track how many users the original tweet went to (followers), the number of retweets, the number of people that the tweet reached in the extended network (including retweets), the number of click through on a job link, and the conversion rate for people that actually applied. In the workflow, we even have a visual funnel that lets recruiters see and interact with their recruiting funnel by position by recruitment process stage.

Why should recruiters use this application?

Two things. Firstly, Twitter is exploding in terms of usage, and it is becoming another viable channel to find qualified candidates. Secondly, tweetCruit is the most efficient solution to recruit through Twitter. Only we offer integrated Twitter messaging, pre-screening and analytics capabilities, so using it is a lot more efficient than cutting and pasting from URL conversion tools and using email to take applicants.

Recruiters can manage multiple Twitter accounts from the same tweetCruit account, making it easy to manage recruiting for multiple brands. We have even integrated SMS capabilities, allowing recruiters to use fast text messaging to communicate with candidates.

What are the fees involved?

Everyone has access to the free version of tweetCruit, which includes integrated Twittering, job posting, analytics, basic pre-screening and workflow capabilities. Paid versions include robust pre-screening capabilities and automated posting to job search engines.

Pricing on the paid versions starts at $30 per month, or people can pay by the post if they prefer. We want it to be easy to try, so all paid versions include a thirty day free trial.

Any plans for enhancements or changes in the future?

We are working on enhancements around improving the analytics further and workflow capabilities. Future versions of tweetCruit will allow multiple users per company, with support for shared and unique Twitter accounts for each user. There is a handy feedback tab on the site, so we would also love user feedback on product direction.

Vanessa, thanks for the shout out. Also interesting to note, we have heard that some people are using their tweetcruit links to get pre-qualification functionality on online classified sites! Love the creativity of this community!
