So when they jack up the subscription rate...readers will stop writing the checks altogether. So let's do the excercise with Starbucks. If in a recession people stop buying $5 coffee becuase they can make it at home for nearly free to save some money. Jacking the price to $20 a cup isn't going to rite the ship to profitability.
