If you’re really good at something, why not share it? That’s what the folks at Moontoast want you to think about when visiting their new site.
Moontoast is touting itself as an online human marketplace where you can share what you know with the world. Instead of buying and selling goods, members are vending their services. You can learn how to make incredible BBQ sauce, meet a life coach, or finally figure out how to play that dusty guitar.
To begin, search for something that you wish you knew more about. Then take a look at the profiles of all the people who view themselves as experts in that certain application. You can then book a session by purchasing Moontoast credits (each credit = $1) from their secure third party payment processor.
If you are looking to share your skills, you need to create a profile that details your accomplishment. Then you can pick your own rates and schedules for potential ‘clients.’ You get paid every Saturday for sessions completed that Thursday.
Moontoast charges the user a 9.99% fee for the first $50 of each session and then 3.99% of each additional dollar.
I only found a couple people calling themselves job search experts on the site, so that area is open for business. I know of quite a few job seekers who would be willing to shell out a few bucks for some really valuable expertise, especially in today’s market.
