Monster.com and Microsoft Office have announced a partnership that will give job seekers access to the Office Online Career Center, a new all-in-one career portal.

Monster.com will power the career tools and services on the Office Online Career Center. Job seekers will also be able to create resumes by choosing from hundreds of Microsoft Office Online resume templates.

Employers can access Monster’s employer tools including job description templates, the resume database and the employer resource center.

“More than ever, a strong resume that makes a positive first impression is key to landing that first internship or finding a great job,” said Justin Hutchinson, director of product management, Microsoft Office. “By partnering with Monster.com we are giving Office customers the resources to build strong resumes while also streamlining the process of finding and applying for new jobs. With these tools, we aim to give people an even better chance at finding the career they want.”

A demonstration on how the collaboration will impact job seekers will begin on April 7 with the launch of the My Resume Talks campaign. Microsoft and Monster.com will help students in search of a summer internship or a first job post-graduation by giving them a chance to have their resume reviewed by a professional resume coach throughout April. Participants can visit My Resume Talks Facebook page for a chance to win one of 500 one-on-one online professional resume review sessions that will take place using Office Live Workspace beta.

“This is an innovative alliance among two global leaders,” said Ted Gilvar, executive vice president and chief global marketing officer, Monster.com. “Microsoft Office Online customers now have easy access to Monster’s jobs, tools and career content; and Monster extends its reach to the people who downloaded more than 18 million career-related templates through Office Online last year alone.”

It seems Monster is always a couple years behind CareerBuilder.

  2. Jimmy Says:

Not to sound stupid or anything, but doesn’t Microsoft own a stake in Careerbuilder?

  3. Jason Says:

Jimmy, Microsoft owns 4% of CareerBuilder.

  4. Jackson Says:

Doesn’t this suggest a lack of faith in CB on the part of Microsoft?

Why do you always have to criticize what monster does, they are a great bunch of people & they are trying their best to get the right candidates for the businesses that need them, so what if Microsoft has a share in CareerBuilder..? A Giant like Microsoft knows Monster’s Worth & they want to Partner with Monster. Even Yahoo post their Job Reqs on the Monster Website when they can use their own HotJobs site.
Grow up & accept the fact that Monster is out there…..
