PersonaVita.com is a social networking site that claims to help job seekers rise above the crowd by uniquely showcasing their contributions and professional reputation online.
The social network allows users to connect with team members, employers and clients to help build a living record of past and present experiences. The idea is that the collective experiences and endorsements will help give context to a person’s past, making their online profile more in-depth.
PersonaVita.com uses a combination of wiki-based sharing and online social networking applications to promote collaboration and discovery. The site lets users create an experience wiki, build an experience network and share your portfolio. The site also features several contribution measurements and personal branding resources meant to evaluate and promote a user’s professional reputation online and off.
“Today more than any other time, people are searching for new ways to connect online to explore opportunities and express their professional worth to others,” Ted Carpenter, co-founder and chief executive officer of PersonaVita, Inc., said.
“By leveraging relationships among focused groups of co-contributors, PersonaVita.com makes it possible to extract the value of any shared experience, conveying the individual skills, talents and contributions made within the group,” Carpenter continued.
Carpenter founded PersonaVita.com in 2008. The site is free to users, and premium services are available for $6.95 per month.
“PersonaVita.com offers a powerful way to document, explore, and share the many personas of our lives,” Carpenter said. “We have created a collaborative environment that not only connects people through shared experiences—but gives them the ability to expand and draw from these experiences in a mutually beneficial way.”
In the future, the company plans to launch a commercially available suite of enterprise tools designed to optimize the return on experience for managers, recruiters and human resources professionals.
