A reader clued me in to a hush-hush venture from Eggsprout, a Seattle-based tech job site that facilitates connections between recruiters and anonymous candidates.
Eggsprout is sending out private beta invites to their new network which allows you, the user, to create your own social job board.
Following the example of Ning, the Eggsprout founders have made this job board completely customizable. You can brand your job board with your own logo and visual design, add job postings (and charge for them with 100% revenue retention), and enhance your network with personal blog postings, Twitter feeds, and discussion forums.
A confidential document about the social network is calling it “The Eggsprout Niche Page.” Here’s how the founders describe its uses:
Eggsprout’s Niche Page is a customized solution that allows anyone to create a professional social network around information sharing, community activities, and networking – for free. Use Niches as a communication platform for your organization, a networking tool for your user group, or brand engagement resource to stay in touch with partners and clients.
Other key features for those interested in the job board management aspect include resume upload and parsing ability, which utilizes Eggsprout’s artificial intelligence technology, job posting management, and search and recommendations, which enables job seekers to search and filter job postings.
You’ll have complete control over everything that happens on your niche board, including moderating discussions, editing content, and banning users.
So if everything is free so far, how are the folks at Eggsprout hoping to capitalize on this venture? They have included a couple of premium options that require payment. By default, the job boards display links for members to create their own job boards. To remove the links, network owners must pay $25 a month. Using your own domain name will also cost owners $5 a month if they choose this option.
It appears RecruiterEarth might be the first to port over from Ning. Who could be next?
