It looks like Sal is doing a thorough job of policing the message boards again.
According to Bloomberg.com, Monster Worldwide has obtained an Illinois court order directing Yahoo! and Microsoft Corp. to disclose the names of people the online jobs-posting company said revealed confidential information about it on the Internet.
In the case Monster Worldwide Inc. v. Yahoo! Inc., 2009L003283 filed in Cook County Circuit Court, Monster alleges that a person or persons using the pseudonyms “salisoostupid,” “igotoutjustintime” and “cluelessmanagement,” posted on a Yahoo investors’ forum from Nov. 21 to Jan. 6 their acquisition plans, internal sales department results and management departures that would be known only to current or former employees bound by confidentiality agreements.
Microsoft is involved in the suit because one of the posters used a Microsoft Hotmail address.
According to the filings, if the posters are revealed to have worked for Monster, the company may sue for breach of its confidentiality agreements.
It appears the same poster may have also contacted Cheezhead’s own Joel Cheesman, who received an anonymous email from a “Tim Goldman” last December that charged Monster’s CEO with deleting content on Yahoo! Finance’s message board. Click here to read the email and the Yahoo! post in question.
The court order also says that the disclosures have cost Monster an undisclosed amount of money and are compromising their business interests.
It appears Monster may get their snitch. Cook County Circuit Court Judge Diane Larsen today granted Monster’s unopposed request for Yahoo and Microsoft to reveal who controls the e-mail addresses.
Bloomberg attempted to get a quote from Microsoft and Yahoo, but both camps remain mum.
