Voting for CNET’s Webware 100, which is a list of the top Web 2.0 apps and services, has begun.
Each year CNET sifts through thousands of nominations to select 300 finalists. Then the finalists are grouped into 10 groups of about 30 each. The best part is, CNET readers get to select the winners (last year nearly 2 million people voted).
Job boards and services are listed in the Commerce category. These are the finalists:
JibberJobber’s Jason Alba said on his blog that he was flattered when one of his buddies nominated JibberJobber to be a finalist.
“Of course I didn’t think I’d make any cuts,” Alba wrote. “But Rafe emailed me about a week ago and notified me that JibberJobber is a finalist! Oh man…what a terrific honor!”

Thanks for posting about this – aside from being flattered to make the list of nominations, I found two other things quite interesting:
1. All of the job-related sites that are nominated are in the “Commerce” category… perhaps down the road there would be a career/job category? For now we are grouped with Amazon (??), Google (??), etc.
2. There are a few job-related companies… which I thought was pretty cool! I count 4 that only focus on career/job search stuff… I’m not sure there were any last year… cool, huh?

Yeah, Yahoo Shopping and Zillow are great places to find jobs! Oh, wait – or not.. What a joke of a list! If these are the sites you are using to find jobs, you’ll be collecting unemployment for a while, that’s for certain.
