It seems like everyone and everything is going green these days – even job boards.

Great Green Careers is a job board that’s focused on the green-collar industry. The site allows job seekers to post their resume online and search for jobs free of charge. Users can set up a search agent to notify them by e-mail if a job related to their field of interest becomes available. The site also offers a list of resources for those seeking a green job.

In addition to posting jobs, employers can search the resume database and set up a resume agent to automatically e-mail them the best resumes that match their needs. They also can track applications to their job postings, create and update company profiles and utilize the resource area.

The green job market is made up of energy, including wind, solar, geothermal, tidal and biomass; environment, including ecology, health and safety, parks and abatement; skilled trades, including heating and cooling, electrical, plumbing, building and automation; and transportation.

Great Green Careers is a service of Ogden Publications, Inc., which also publishes Mother Earth News, Utne Reader and Natural Home.

Yes, those who supply traditional service jobs, plumbing, electrical etc. can now offer new green alternatives for energy savings and conservation.

Roll on more green jobs. Whole new meaning to green fingers and just doing jobs in the garden.
