The job was originally posted on GetAFreelancer.com, where freelancers can bid on jobs. In the bidding section, several of the developers mention that they are also working on potential competitors for Monster.com.
With 50,000+ job boards in existence in a supersaturated market, is yet another Monster competitor what this industry needs?

All of these applications are just software. While software and funcitooality is important, its clearly the least important of two important elements. the most important element is having a critcal mass of profiles (job seekers) and Jobs (employers). This cannot be emmulated by someone spending $3,000 or even $30,000 or even $300,000. Its even tough to do it with 3 million too.

Perhaps the top 2 or 3 players matters…the rest will just sink to the bottom like heavy stones. It’s impossible for job seekers to remember 50+ names and websites. So let the clones come,…they will probably just die out naturally. And then another wave will come and fill the void…
