LatPro, a job site for Latino and bilingual professionals, has launched JustJobs.com, a vertical search engine that finds positions from other job boards and employers’ websites.

Eric Shannon, founder and CEO of LatPro, said that the JustJobs.com family of newly launched job search engines, in development for three years, is the outcome of lessons learned over more than a decade of running its flagship Hispanic and bilingual niche job board, LatPro.

“JustJobs.com is about creating as much value as we can for job seekers,” Shannon said. “Our goal is to show clear immediate value to job seekers, job boards and employers. In my annual review of the Top 100 Job Site Niches, I see that’s what ties together the job sites that are perennial leaders – they show job seekers immediate value.”

JustJobs.com follows the launch of LatPro’s DiversityJobs.com search engine in 2006. It’s a free resource for job boards and job seekers. Shannon said it searches more than 1,000,000 jobs from over 75 partners and currently serves 1,000,000+ million monthly page views over its family of job search engines.

Justjobs.com also includes a career focused social network, powered by Ning, and blog where the company welcomes all career experts and job seekers.

Maybe he should start a job fair search engine. That would be a new idea. This site alone…isn’t.

I appreciate Eric and his work but this just seems 3 1/2 years too late! I, like Eric, ask the same question he did in his announcement -Does the world really need another job search engine? It seems like the idea of a search engine is to have one place to search – how many hairs do we need to split before we have nothing left!

That ship has sailed. Indeed and Simply Hired are too far ahead. Maybe TopUSAJobs, Juju, and JustJobs should combine to pool their 1M uniques.

All..Although to some it may seem to late or there are too many in the field… regardless congrats should be given to Eric for sticking with the plan/dream for so many years and launching the site. He easily could have given up but instead push forwarded and launched where others may have given up. Congrats Eric.

Well, I like being the underdog and am happy to serve as your punching bag if the doubters are correct – check back with me in three more years and I’ll tell it like it is.

In the meantime, as long as we are able to create value for our partners and users where there was none before and see the project growing – we will give it more gas.

“That ship has sailed” thinking would have torpedoed many great success stories including plentyoffish.com which is one of my favorites.

Thanks for your kind words Joe!

Eric is a great voice in our industry, but this seems like FlipDog all over again.

Another job search engine. Nothing really different about this site, just the fact it will take job listings from other job websites, but with that there is still only a narrow pool of jobs submitted. All these sites are linked together and have a mutual list of careers. Nothing really new here.

FlipDog was a great site until it was purchased and ruined!

Which reminds me that neither Indeed nor SimplyHired were really new either when they launched if you want to ignore details. The really ‘new stuff’ strongly favored by the press, almost always ends up going nowhere. There is so much new stuff out there, you could spend your days reading about it and never finish.

And that reminds me how the best ‘new’ features job boards create for recruiters, including ones I have personally found useful in my own recruiting end up being used by a small minority…

So, ‘new’ is not exactly the target. If it grows, that’s because it works and does something of value that wasn’t being done before – that’s new enough for me.

Is there a reason JustJobs is displaying the full job description after you click on the job title from the search result page? Indeed and SimplyHired do not work this way – they bring you directly to the actual site where the original job resides.

This seems more like a job board than a search engine, yet its taking advantage of the aggregator model. Is this appropriate?
