Craig, JimBob is gonna kick yer crappy-ass list to the curb.

That’s probably what Mark Tims was thinking when he created JimBob’s List, a classifieds site that caters to rural communities.

It’s free to post jobs. There’s only one restriction given by the site when selecting posting criteria: DON’T PICK YA COUNTY TWICE OR I’LL RUN YA OUTTA HERE.

Next time I’m on the market for a new motorized bar stool, JimBob’s will be the first place I look. Thanks for bringing it to the attention of all those city folk out there.

You must register before posting a job. That’s all I need. Someone using my email account to send me more spam. You must also choose AT LEAST 2 counties for your job posting. My territories have very large counties (one of them is largest county in the US). Anyone who lives outside the county could be commuting 3 hours one way. I explored JimBob with open mind but at the end I saw no WOW factors that would convince me that JimBob will over run Craigslist.

Interesting – the list of jobs open in Hardin County, Ohio, is the same list of jobs open in Woodbury County, Iowa – kind of an amazing coincidence. Strange lack of employer identification on any of the postings, too. Tough to start-up a back country classifieds site…
