Realmatch has partnered with the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia to launch PhillyJobMatch.
“Realmatch has been partnering with television stations in various metro areas,” said Rafael Cosentino, RealmatchVP Business Development. “The partnership is simple, we supply the disruptive technology and pricing and the television station uses their media power to build a local employment brand which Realmatch powers. Case in point, Phillyjobmatch.com which is being heavily promoted on air to job seekers and employers in greater Philadelphia.”
Checkout a commercial currently running in the area:
“Several of the television stations we had approached said ‘no’ to the Big 3 product and ‘yes’ to Realmatch because they know they need to be different, especially now,” added Cosentino. “If you were building an online recruitment franchise today, would you offer the same thing as everyone else? Our goal is to create a significant alternative to the Big 3 in every metro and vertical and allow each TV and vertical partner to capture a significant share of the online recruitment market within their footprint.”
Realmatch touts similar relationships with 18 other stations around the country with more to come. Realmatch doesn’t pay for such real estate and instead provides a revenue share arrangement based on site activity. Commitments to market the network are included.
Ever playing the role of underdog, Cosentino adds, “Now employers in Philadelphia truly have a risk free alternative to the Big 3. We keep telling everyone there will come a time when employers will realize there is no value in posting a job. People are starting to hear us.
“Employers are begging to unlearn ‘pay-to-post’ and have realized that value is only created when a qualified candidate is identified and most job boards can’t do that therefore paying upfront before results are in doesn’t make any sense. As we educate employers and take share in each metro, we scale nationally. Once this job posting genie is out of the bottle, you won’t be able to put it back in.”

is this a joke?
my favorite quote is this gem:
“Several of the television stations we had approached said ‘no’ to the Big 3 product and ‘yes’ to Realmatch because they know they need to be different, especially now,”
meaning we under valued our product and gave it to them for free, they said yes because they have nothing to lose. Same thing CareerBuilder did back in 04 and 05.

This isn’t new at all. Careerbuilder has done it, Simply Hired powers the career content for Fox TV stations’ website, etc.
Yawn.

If this get any traction, the pay to post model could be put at risk but they will have to steal a lot of business from monster. Its the right time to do it though cause monster wont ever change their pricing….none of them will.
