I actually agree with lot's of what Gareth has to say in terms of the candidate frustration & guidance. I can also appreciate that in the current climate recruiters must be receiving more applications than ever for each role. So the benefits of sites like Workthing are relatively clear.

Obviously payment is a sensitive issue. Being out of work & having to spend money to find your next role is not normal in the UK. So for those of you, like me, that can see the benefit but don't want to pay can I suggest you check out http://www.zookel.com. Lot's (or all) of the same benefits & it's free.

Good luck - Joe

Anonymous, it's a shame you are so cynical about a service that is designed to help you. Tough job markets mean candidates have to do even more to stand out from the crowd. We aren't selling snake oil or magic wands, just tools to help serious jobseekers. These tools have a track record of success - they have been used by over 100,000 senior executives on corporate outplacement packages.

How is this not just exploiting vulnerable jobseeekers. They know people aref struggling to get a job. They know the economy means the job market is really tough here in UK. They know jobseekers are desperate. What is in this service to help people really find a job?? I dont know because I won't pay for the privilege of finding out.

Hi Anonymous, the Workthing+ promise is a genuine commitment to our members that, if they use the service to properly structure their jobsearch, then it will help them back to work - or it won't cost them anything. Surely anything that helps counter long-term unemployment has got to be a good thing.

Statistics show that 90% of people who lose their jobs are back to work within 6 months anyway. Isn't the "Workthing+ Promise" is really just a gimmick?

At a time when most of the market is bunkering down, we here at Trinity Mirror think Workthing+ brings real innovation and value to the market.

Jobseeking is often a frustrating process; candidates don't get feedback from recruiters and don't understand how recruiters really work; recruiters get too many unfocused, poor quality applications. It can be lonely for candidates; it often takes longer than expected to find the next job; yet jobseekers are often conducting their jobsearch alone and unguided.

So Workthing+ is firmly on the side of the jobseeker - providing them with the tools and support they need to conduct a structured, effective jobsearch. The tools have already been used by over a hundred thousand senior executives during career transition; Workthing+ makes the tools accessible to everyone for as little as 10 pounds per month.

We're so confident that Workthing+ delivers tangible results that we will refund subscriptions to any member who is unemployed after using the service for 6 months.
