Not to be outdone by Monster’s Keep America Working Tour, the Employment Guide, a recruitment solution for hourly workers, has pledged to help 15,000 people find jobs by 2010 via their Putting America Back to Work job fair series.
Previously, the Employment Guide, a division of Dominion Enterprises, said it would put 10,000 people back to work by the end of the year. Instead, a spokesperson said that 11,152 workers found new jobs in six months. Because their goals were surpassed so quickly, EG decided to revisit the guidelines and then came up with the new figure of 15,000.
“It’s time to raise the stakes. We’ve talked to employers and run the numbers—jobs are out there in everything from health care to retail, food service to transportation. We’re thrilled to have helped more than 10,000 workers find employment, but we won’t be content until that number reaches 15,000. It’s time to go to work,” said Jack Webber, vice president and general manager of The Employment Guide and EmploymentGuide.com.
The Putting America Back to Work job fair series is free and open to the public. Upcoming stops include:
- San Jose, Calif. June 30, 2009
