another employment marketplace?

If you think Recruiterreqs.com is just another employment marketplace, think again.

Recruiterreqs.com

The new site, which launched in May, has so far been compared to others such as BountyJobs and Dayak. However, Founder and CEO Paul Paris maintains that his site is different. He came up with the idea for the site when he was laid off from a previous position, and when looking for a new job, realized that most sites have the same idea of employers posting jobs and candidates submitting resumes.

Sites like BountyJobs and Dayak ask employers to post a job, with the placement fee up for grabs, and recruiters submit candidates until the employer finds one they like. Part of the reason those sites are so controversial is that there are no contracts involved to protect recruiters. On top of that, the site allows the employer to determine the fee.

What makes Recruiterreqs.com different is that it is a membership-based job board that allows recruiters to pay the same fee every month, regardless of the number of placements they make. The site asks the employer to post a job and recruiters who specialize in that field to submit a private bid on the fee they will charge to partner with them to fill the position.

Employers can then review the bids and profiles that recruiters create and decide who they want to work with on filling that specific position. Depending on how quickly they want to fill the job, employers can choose up to five recruiters to work with.

Employers can always post jobs for free and the site allows them to work with recruiters at a reduced fee. There are no long-term contracts and all recruiters who have a bid accepted are told the contract is only for that job at the fee they submitted. All placements are given a 90-day guarantee period.

While job seekers currently do not have a place on the main site, the company has created the Recruiterreqs.com Employment Cafe, a Ning network where job seekers can post resumes and employers can view those resumes. Paris said the company is creating a new Employment Cafe at http://recruiterreqsemploymentcafe.com, and when that site launches the Ning site will only be used for networking purposes among job seekers.

“I have always enjoyed recruiting, and while I believe that the industry has changed drastically, our concept is still like that feeling I got when doing a placement,” Paris said, “when you hear that someone posted a resume on your social network and got a job, or an employer saved enough money using Recruiterreqs.com that they were able to pay the higher salary to an employee because they now saved that money in their budget by using our site, or that a recruiter was able to work with a company that they never could if they weren’t part of our job board.”

On top of its mission to bring employers, recruiters and job seekers together, Recruiterreqs.com also is a member of the Agents Paying Forward Network and has vowed to contribute a portion of its earnings to various charities.

I am an accounting recruiter in NYC and I was curious so I tried to sign up. They immediately asked for $375 or $500 a month without allowing me first to see what type and how many jobs are avaiable in my market. I immediately dropped the site. It would be best to first allow potential users to search the site and not be able to communicate with the employer until the monthly payment is made…since this is not uncommon, my guess…not much on the site.

  2. Paul Paris Says:

Try using the quick search button on the HomePage that is what it is there for. It will also if their are no jobs in your speciality posted allow you to register for free and set up an alert for when jobs are posted in your recruiting speciality so you don’t join before jobs are available for you to bid on.

    Enjoy your day!

    Paul

The comment that I would also like to make is there will never be 100’s of jobs posted because as soon as the bids are accepted by the Employer the jobs are removed.

Thanks Paul…perhaps it could be more clear and the search on the top of the page…frankly I didn’t see it.

CLP not a problem and with the site being fairly new and features being continually added we will be making some changes and will take yours into consideration. We don’t wish to have anyone pay prior to having jobs for them to bid on in their speciality and have on three occasions refunded Recruiters money back to them for that reason. We hope you will register with us and you may also want to look at our new site Recruiterreqs Employment Cafe which will be launched tomorrow where you can post unlimited jobs for pennies a day.
