I don't know Rod, but as a recruiter, I've been on the receiving end of some highly questionable Yahoo/Hot Jobs sales calls through the years. The most vivid example being when a rep called to say that my business partner had requested that I sign up for a demo (lie) and that he had scheduled it on my behalf for that day (lie). Let's hope Rod wasn't a part of that particular group think because sleazy doesn't even begin to describe their antics.

I had the pleasure of working with Rod at Hot Jobs and have nothing but positive things to say about my former co-worker. Rod is a great sales person and always exceeded his quota every quarter. Even through rough economic times, and a terrible job market, rod was able to bring a sense of humor and liveliness to the office while maintaining a solid work ethic.

To the hj haters above: you should be disgusted with yourselves.

I had the chance to work with Rod Garcia and he added a sense of excitement to a sales floor that was full of negative energy due to the struggling economy. As we all know the job market was taking a turn for the worse about 9 months prior to the “recession” news. Even through the chaos Rod was able to add a sense of excitement, levity, yet still be able to get down to business every day. There were many night when Garcia and I would be working past the rest of the office still getting in touch with clients and adding as much “added-value” for our customers as possible.

As for the other comments, people should remember that whatever we post to the internet stays on the internet forever. People should treat one another with mutual respect and do nothing but wish this professional well!

Best of luck,
Rod

I know a lot of people in the online recruitment business and its no wonder they are all so angry. The industry sucks..no one is making any money, everyone is living off of borrowed promises and VC money. Too many player making too much noise in a quicklly dying market with zero demand. Move along people....nothing to see here but a dying industry.

This was brought to my attention by several of my former colleagues and I'd like to point out that Rod is a great sales person. Based on his experience and ability to generate new business, Rod 100% deserves this position and will undoubtedly succeed in this new role.

...I'm guessing Rod won't be hiring any of you outspoken HotJobs employees if the opportunity would present itself. Good luck Rod.

en⋅vy  [en-vee] plural -vies, verb, -vied, -vy⋅ing.
–noun
1.	a feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc.
2.	an object of envious feeling: Her intelligence made her the envy of her classmates.
3.	Obsolete. ill will.
–verb (used with object)
4.	to regard with envy; be envious of: He envies her the position she has achieved in her profession.
–verb (used without object)
5.	Obsolete. to be affected with envy.

JobThread is a smaller company than Yahoo! HotJobs, that should come as no surprise to anyone...so one doesn't know what the responsibilities of the VP of Sales are at JobThread. However, it would be safe to say that he isn't managing a sales force of 500+ people. Let's compare apples to apples here people.

For all we know, Rod could be the only sales rep at JobThread pounding the phones all day--doing what he did in his career at HotJobs.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's great to assume that you know things...but you know what they say about people who assume.
