Roberto is CEO of AfterCollege (http://www.aftercollege.com), an online professional platform that connects college students, alumni and employers through customized career networks at colleges and professional organizations across the country. A native of Sonora, Mexico, Roberto founded what is now AfterCollege as a Junior at Stanford University, where he obtained his B.S. degree in Economics. His previous projects include Intuit's Quicken Beta web site, which was the first software beta testing service of its kind. He was also involved in rolling out the first interactive college course web site in the United States for a class at Stanford. Previously, he worked at BBN/GTE Internetworking as a Project Manager, heading Internet hosting architecture design projects. Roberto is the co-author of two patents relating to AfterCollege's proprietary online recruiting technology.

Sites like Facebook are a fun and easy way to engage with contacts and to have two-way communication with people who are interested in your organization. Twitter is another great tool that allows you to easily blast updates to your followers. At the same time, job boards, especially niche ones, continue to provide good return on investment for employers targeting niche audiences. A perfect example is Craigslist. The site has hardly changed in ten years, yet it remains one of the most effective sites for targeting job seekers geographically. So which recruiting resource is the most effective? By Roberto Angulo - Despite the current economy, demographic trends and pending retirements will mean more opportunities for college students. The year is just beginning and the long term prospects for college students are favorable. Factors larger than the current crisis, such as an aging population, the need for government spending in certain areas, and the need for more financial accountability will translate into more opportunities. We are starting the year with a curiosity of what’s in store for us, and the silver lining definitely provides hope for a good come back.
