Jason Goldberg, the man (in)famously behind the founding of Jobster and then non-job-specific SocialMedian has a new place to drop content: betashop.

By Vanessa Dennis - Recruiting platform Jobster, which launched in 2004 as one of the most hyped startups in the recruiting space, seems to be acting as not just an incubator of ideas, but a breeding ground for successful entrepreneurs. By Joel Cheesman - In the years that I’ve been doing predictions, this round seems to be particularly difficult. Why? The overall landscape is relatively depressing. For now at least, the days of new and interesting start-ups are on hold. The big guys aren’t exactly in an experimental mood. By Joel Cheesman - Like you, I’m doing my best to wrap my head around this whole economic, bailout, end of days thingy. I’m especially hoping to gain some clarity in regards to what it means to the employment space. Obviously, companies not hiring means a lot of vendors not making money. The best many players can hope for is holding steady while watching for falling rocks. Having been a victim in the last downturn, I know how ugly it can get. As one industry leader recently put it to me in private, “Our industry is f***ed!” So, here are some of my winners and losers for the year ahead.
