    Cleveland, Ohio

The City of Cleveland is located in northeastern Ohio, bordering Lake Erie. Cleveland is found within Cuyahoga County, the most populous county in the state.

The city was founded in 1796 by Moses Cleaveland near the Cuyahoga River, and became a major manufacturing center due to its location near canals and railroads. Cleveland’s main businesses have since moved from heavy manufacturing to the service economy, including the financial, insurance and healthcare industries.

The city underwent an effort to upgrade its technology in 2000. Cleveland was named an Intel “‘Worldwide Digital Community” in 2005, and was one of seven finalists for Community Forum’s “Intelligent Community of the Year” award.

Cleveland is home to the Glenn Research Center, a NASA facility, as well as Jones Day, one of the largest law firms in the world. Cleveland also is noted for being home to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
