    Georgia

Georgia is a state located in the southeastern United States. It is the ninth-largest state in the nation by population, and the third fastest growing state. From 2006 to 2007, Georgia had 18 counties among the nation’s 100 fastest growing counties, more than any other state. Georgia is bordered by Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and the Atlantic Ocean. Atlanta serves as the state capital.

In 1724 it was suggested the area be named the Province of Georgia in honor of British King George II. After joining the Confederacy in 1861, Georgia played an important role in the American Revolutionary War, as several battles took place there.

Today Georgia has over 1,700 internationally headquartered facilities representing 43 countries, and employing more than 112,000 Georgians with an investment of about $22.7 billion.
