While PayScale does charge for more in-depth reports, much of their content is free and open to the public. Founder Joe Giordano said, "PayScale plays an integral part in making the job market place transparent in terms of salary and compensation. We collect millions of profiles with all their unique attributes and then use advanced computation power and statistics to make sure that the data is all valid."
